Door glass and sealed unit replacement in Mississauga
Smashed door lite, cracked sidelite, patio panel that fogged two winters ago. We measure the opening, cut the right safety glass and set it back into the same door — the frame and hardware stay, only the glass changes.

Broken glass: board first, glaze after
Door glass is cut to the opening, so a same-hour swap isn't realistic on anything non-standard. We clear the frame of shards, board the opening so the door still closes and locks, take exact measurements and come back to glaze once the unit is ready.
Foggy glass means the seal failed
Condensation between the panes is a failed sealed unit. Nothing you can clean, and the insulating value is gone. The unit is replaced inside the existing frame — the door, hinges and hardware are untouched.
The right glass, not just any glass
Glass in and around a door opening is safety glass by code — tempered or laminated depending on location and size. Laminated is worth specifying on ground-floor and storefront openings because it holds together when hit instead of dropping out.
Questions we get asked
- Does broken door glass mean a new door?
- No. The glass sits in a removable stop or a glazing channel. The slab, frame and hardware all stay in place.
- How long until the new glass is in?
- Board-up is same day. Standard tempered units are usually a couple of business days; decorative and oversized storefront units take longer to fabricate.
- Do you do house windows too?
- No — doors and door openings only, including sidelites, transoms above a door and storefront glass. That's what our vans are set up for.
